Defibtech today announced that during an awards ceremony in New York City its Lifeline and ReviveR Automated External Defibrillators were honored with a gold Medical Device Excellence Award. The awards were presented during the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East 2005 Conference and Exposition, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. The Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA) competition is the only awards program that exclusively recognizes contributions and advances in the design of medical products. The program is organized and presented by Canon Communications, the publishers of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry Magazine (MD&DI), the leading publication of the medical design industry. Defibtech today announced that the Defibtech AED has received a 2005 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA). Defibtech announced today that for the third year in a row the state of Arkansas has chosen Defibtech Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for deployment throughout the state. The latest shipment to the state of Arkansas was comprised of 365 AEDs. More than 900 Defibtech AEDs have now been delivered to buyers in Arkansas. Defibtech announced today that it has received a Best Design award in the Medicine on the Net Web Excellence Awards for its website www.defibtech.com. The Medicine on the Net Web Excellence Awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding websites. Defibtech won the Best Design award in the Healthcare Medical Supplier category for 2005. The best design award judges evaluate the overall appearance, audience appropriateness, use of graphics, readability, originality and creativity of the site. Defibtech announced today that the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) has deployed more than 60 Defibtech Lifeline Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the MBTA transit system. One of the Lifeline AEDs has already saved a passenger's life. In the MBTA system the Defibtech Lifeline AEDs are located in transit stations, corporate offices and vans. The certification process included a full quality system audit, ISO 13485 standard (Quality systems - Medical devices), under CMDAS (Canadian Medical Device Conformity Assessment System). Defibtech announced today that The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design awarded a "Good Design" award to Defibtech for the Lifeline Automated External Defibrillator (AED). "Good Design remains the oldest and most important design competition worldwide," stated the Director/President of the Chicago Athenaeum Christian Narkievicz-Laine. "This year, the Museum received hundreds of submissions from all over the world for this awards program." The Good Design award was founded in Chicago in 1950 by the pioneering greats of American and modern design.
