Guilford, CT
June 5, 2012

Defibtech announced today that it has won a Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Innovation Prize, for its Lifeline AUTO Fully Automatic External Defibrillator.

This year, the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) celebrates its 25th anniversary as the nation’s first state award using the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award criteria for Performance Excellence and the 17th anniversary of the CQIA Innovation Prize.

The Defibtech Lifeline AUTO AED is a fully automatic defibrillator designed to analyze a patient’s heart rhythm and automatically deliver a shock – without intervention – if needed. The Lifeline AUTO AED includes all mission critical features necessary to provide the most advanced treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

The Defibtech Lifeline AUTO AED is CE marked, which allows the AUTO to be sold in member countries of the European Union and in countries which recognize the CE Mark.

This 2012 award is the fifth time that the CQIA Partnership has awarded Defibtech with an Innovation Award. In 2004 Defibtech was recognized for its groundbreaking Lifeline AED, in 2006 an award was presented to Defibtech for the DefibtechMD AED Management Program, in 2008 the award acknowledged the innovativeness of the Defibtech AED Training Devices and in 2010 the Innovation Award recognized the significance of the Lifeline VIEW AED, the first and only AED with a full-color, full-motion video display.
