Defibtech today announced that it will be exhibiting at Medica, the 45th World Forum for Medicine, International Trade Fair in Dusseldorf, Germany, November 20-23, 2013. Defibtech designs and manufactures automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and other resuscitation equipment and is based in the United States.

Medica is the world’s largest medical trade fair, attracting over 140,000 visitors from over 100 countries, across all continents. With its extensive ancillary program, numerous special events, and the largest product display in the industry, Medica is the premier international medical trade show.  The vice president of international sales, Gianfranco Buchbinder, will represent Defibtech at the Medica show and Gintaras Vaisnys, president and Giovanni Meier, vice president of engineering, will be in attendance.

“Since our first participation at Medica almost 10 years ago we have increased our product line to include not only defibrillators for lay users, but also defibrillators and other resuscitation devices for professionals,” said vice president of international sales, Gianfranco Buchbinder. “We are extremely proud of our expanded product line which can address the needs of many different users.”

Defibtech products are sold in over 40 countries and are available in over 20 languages. Defibtech AEDs have been chosen throughout the world for large scale deployments in police and fire departments, airports, airlines, railways, marine transportation, schools, fitness centers, medical offices, businesses and other public places.

AEDs revive victims of sudden cardiac arrest caused by ventricular fibrillation. Health experts estimate that sudden cardiac arrest kills more than 380,000 people annually in the United States alone. Studies show that if victims are defibrillated within a minute or two after arrest, more than 70 percent survive. If defibrillation is delayed for more than 10 minutes, only 5 percent live, making immediate access to AEDs vital.
