Defibtech Named as Finalist in 2010 American Business AwardsSM

Guilford, CT
May 13, 2010

Defibtech was named a Finalist today in the “Best New Product” category in The 2010 American Business Awards.

The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit entries — public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. More than 2,700 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories.

This year’s award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Monday, June 21 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than six-hundred executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend. The event will benefit Oceana (, the largest international organization focused on ocean conservation. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network.

Defibtech designs and manufactures automated external defibrillators (AEDs), which can revive victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Health experts estimate that sudden cardiac arrest kills more than 325,000 people each year in the United States alone. Defibtech’s Lifeline™ and ReviveR™ defibrillators can be found in public access areas, workplaces, police and fire vehicles, schools and churches, health clubs, and other locations.

“We are very excited about the launch of our new product, the View AED,” said Defibtech president Gintaras Vaisnys. “The View is a revolutionary AED and we are thrilled that the judges of the American Business Awards recognize this by naming Defibtech a Finalist for the Best New Product award.” The View AED is the first and only AED with a full-color, full-motion interactive display that shows step-by-step videos for preparing the patient, performing CPR and rescue breathing and performing external defibrillation.
