Defibtech today announced that it will be exhibiting its Lifeline Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at Medica, The 38th World Forum for Medicine, International Trade Fair in Dusseldorf, Germany, November 15-18, 2006.

Medica is the leading global exhibition for the medical sector, attracting trade visitors from nearly 100 countries. With its extensive ancillary program, numerous special events, two major congresses and the largest product display in the industry, Medica is the premier international medical trade show. The Defibtech Vice President of International Sales and Marketing, Gianfranco Buchbinder, will represent Defibtech at the Medica show.

The Defibtech Lifeline AED has grown to become an AED leader and recognized name in many countries around the world, including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, UK, Ireland, China, Malaysia and Singapore. The audible instructions, which “talk” the user through the steps of a rescue, are available in a number of different languages.

“The Lifeline AED is highly regarded not only in the North American market, but in markets worldwide,” said Defibtech president Gintaras Vaisnys. “The reliability, durability and reasonable price of the Lifeline AED travels with it wherever it goes.”

AEDs revive victims of sudden cardiac arrest caused by ventricular fibrillation. Studies show that if victims are defibrillated within a minute or two after arrest, more than 70 percent survive. If defibrillation is delayed for more than 10 minutes, only 5 percent live, making immediate access to AEDs vital.
