Defibtech Ships Fully Automatic External Defibrillators

GUILFORD, CT – November 25, 2009 – Defibtech announced today that it has shipped its first order of Lifeline AUTO External Defibrillators.

The Defibtech AUTO is a Fully Automatic External Defibrillator that analyzes the victim’s heart rhythm and automatically delivers a shock, if a shock is necessary. Conventional external defibrillators require the user to press the shock button to deliver a shock.

“The Defibtech AUTO gives people even more confidence to use an external defibrillator when necessary,” said Gianfranco Buchbinder, the Vice President of International Sales and Marketing. “ Since the user does not have to worry about pressing the shock button, it takes away pressure in an already stressful situation.”

The first shipment of Defibtech AUTOs was shipped to DefibFrance, the company that is Defibtech’s exclusive distributor in France. Florian Hilaire, the founder of DefibFrance, is pleased to have the fully automatic external defibrillator added to the product line. He said that many customers are very interested in the automatic device, in particular, customers who deploy units in public access locations, in municipalities, and in large corporations.

The Defibtech AUTO is CE marked, which allows the AUTO to be sold in the member countries of the European Union. Currently, the Defibtech AUTO is available for purchase in France, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, Switzerland, and Belgium.
